Founder of LWWC

Chair and founder of Live Well with Cancer,Maureen has over 25 years' experience of Cancer care. Maureen has cared for cancer patients from diagnosis to end of life care and is passionate about helping people live their best life as they move through their pathway.

Sarah Dodds

Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018, Rachel

has first-hand experience of the gaps in service

provision for young women facing cancer. She is keen to use her skills as a creative marketing and communications practitioner to address these gaps and establish a strong support network in North Tyneside.

Diagnosed with stage 3 low-grade Ovarian cancer

at 25. Sarah knows the rollercoaster cancer patients

go through during and after treatment.

She will use her personal experience to help other

people improve the quality of their life

after a cancer diagnosis.

With seven years' experience working in the

IT industry, Sarah is now a trainee accountant

at Global financial management.

Passionate about cancer care in North Tyneside,

Sarah will be Live Well with Cancer's

treasurer.

Magdalena Dopierala

A nurse for over forty years with a keen interest in care outside the hospital, Carol worked as a District Nurse Sister in West Yorkshire as well as in project management and palliative and end of life care. Carol is passionate about supporting patients and families to receive the best care and support at the time and in the best place to suit them. She was made a Queen’s Nurse in 2007, which was the same year she completed a Diploma in Aromatherapy. 

After 18 years of studying, working and travelling the world, Magda - originally from Poland found her real home in Tynemouth. Over the last 20 years she gained her doctoral degree from Northumbria University and has developed her career in nutrition internationally, culminating in the transformation from a clinical base to the Independent multi award winning business Karma Coast.

With a passion for improving the lives of his community, Dylan is honoured to join the LWWC team. 

 

Originally from Cullercoats, Dylan enjoyed a creative upbringing which led him to a career in acting and music before creating the multi-award winning wellbeing company - Karma Coast in 2018.

Alison McDonald

Semi-retired after over 30 years as a qualified

nurse. Alison has supported cancer 

patients on the ward and as a nurse specialist

in liver and pancreas cancer. 

She has spent the last six years as a one-to-one 

nurse in the community, building

a wealth of knowledge.
