About our charity
What we do
Live Well with Cancer helps people to live life fully with and beyond a cancer diagnosis. Our workshops, events, support groups, 1-2-1 support and educational resources are free to anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis, including family, friends, carers and healthcare professionals.
Our Live Well Hub on Nile Street in the heart of North Shields is a lifeline to members of our community, particularly people newly impacted by a diagnosis and those at the end of treatment.
Founded by people affected by cancer, for people affected by cancer, we provide vital support through self-help, mutual support and signposting to existing services. As our charity continues to grow, we seek new and better ways to help our community to live well with cancer.

Our purpose
Why we do what we do
Almost 50% of people will get cancer in their lifetime. In 2021, the North East had the highest rate of cancer incidences for both males and females. As the number of people surviving cancer increases, more people have significant unmet needs, particularly at treatment end. Our services provide invaluable support within the community to anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis.
