Almost 50% of people will get cancer in their lifetime. In the North East alone, there are 16,000 newly diagnosed cancer every year. We are building a community that empowers people to live life with and beyond a cancer diagnosis.
Live Well With Cancer
Nearly one in two people will receive a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime. This means nearly everyone in our community will either have cancer in their lifetime or love someone who does. We all know how devastating a cancer diagnosis can be. Many members of our community are coping with significant unmet needs, particularly when treatment comes to an end.
At Live Well with Cancer, we don’t believe a cancer diagnosis needs to stop you from living your life. We focus on living well with cancer because, together, we can.
Our focus is on empowering people to help people improve their mental and physical health and overall wellbeing. Through self-help, mutual support and signposting to local services, we are building an inclusive, welcoming community that delivers flexible workshops, exercise classes and support groups. We are eager to work in partnership with others to ensure people get the care they need when they need it.
Our funders play an integral role in Live Well With Cancer's progress. They make everything we do possible. We are proud to put their money to good use in helping people in North Tyneside live with and beyond cancer.
