Live Well With Cancer was created by people who have personally been affected by cancer. We are experienced in cancer care and are passionate about helping people through their pathway.

Almost 50% of people will get cancer in their lifetime. In the North East alone, there are 16,000 newly diagnosed cancer every year. We are building a community that empowers people to live life with and beyond a cancer diagnosis.

Live Well with Cancer helps people affected by cancer diagnosis to improve their health and wellbeing. From our Live Well Hub in the heart of North Shields, we offer free workshops, events, support groups, 1-2-1 support and educational resources that helps our community to live life fully with and beyond a cancer diagnosis.

Live Well with Cancer helps people affected by cancer to improve their health and wellbeing through self-help, mutual support and signposting to existing services.

BBC Look North

We were proud to see the Live Well Hub featured on BBC, highlighting our weekly Tai Chi sessions and monthly Bowel Cancer Support Group. The segment offered a valuable opportunity to showcase the support we provide to our community, and we’re grateful to the team at Look North for helping us share our story with a wider audience.

Education

Healthy Habits & Prehab

We were delighted to host the first two Live Well with Healthy Habits Masterclasses funded by Northern Cancer Alliance and Point North. Regulars and newcomers to the Live Well Hub learned about The Wellbeing 9-a-Day and enjoyed taster sessions on Tai Chi, silk painting and compassion.

Funding

Live Well Lads

We’re grateful to Macmillan Cancer Support for a £9,095 grant supporting our Live Well Lads project, enabling a year of weekly drop-ins and monthly activities for men living with cancer. We’re inviting men in our community to join us at 2:30pm on Tuesday 5th May for an introductory session to help shape a year of Live Well Lads activities.
