Join us for the first of two Live Well with Healthy Habits Masterclasses at the Live Well Hub! Open to patients and professionals, our first masterclass will be held from 10am to 2pm on Thursday 23rd April.

Funded by Northern Cancer Alliance through Point North, and in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, these sessions help you understand the habits of a healthy lifestyle and how you can make them part of your daily life.

Our Live Well with Healthy Habits campaign promotes the nine habits of a healthy lifestyle - The Wellbeing 9-a-Day - which is best understood as the THREE PILLARS OF WELLNESS.


 

The 1st PILLAR is your JOURNEY from the past, through the present, and into the future. Set intentions that aim for a better future, Be present by connecting with the moment, and Let go to release bad habits formed in the past.

 

The 2nd PILLAR is your mental HEALTH, physical fitness and emotional wellbeing. Learn to expand your mind, Move to exercise your body, and Enjoy to experience positive emotions.

 

The 3rd PILLAR is your RELATIONSHIPS with other people, your self and your diet. Connect to cultivate better relationships, Self-care to tend to your needs, and build a healthy diet with good Nutrition.

Live Well Masterclasses

We’re excited to host two Masterclasses in the Live Well Hub, open for people impacted by a cancer diagnosis and professionals working in cancer care.

 

Every attendee will receive a free copy of Live Well with Healthy Habits: The Prehab Edition, a 15-day wellness journal designed to help people prepare for treatment.

 

Prehabilitation is a healthcare process that empowers patients to improve their overall wellbeing before and during treatment.


It typically includes physical activity, nutrition and psychological support, as well as help to sleep better, stop smoking, reduce alcohol intake, and manage pain and chronic health conditions.

 

People who receive prehabilitation support experience a better quality of life before, during and after treatment, while the habits promoted by The Wellbeing 9-a-Day will help anyone to improve their health and wellbeing, at any stage of life.

 

During the session, we’ll set you up with your own wellness journal. We’ll enjoy three practical sessions, including tai chi and silk painting, and provide nutritious refreshments, so that you can begin your journey to transformed wellbeing with members of our community.

If you cannot make either of our Masterclasses, we are running a session at Riverside Stadium from 10-12pm on 25th March, which is open to people impacted by cancer, including those working in cancer care.
