Where else to start but the wonderful coverage our charity received on Look North? We were delighted to see the Live Well Hub showcased on BBC, with our weekly Tai Chi and monthly Bowel Cancer Support Group captured wonderfully well. Thank you to Maureen, Jess and Emma for championing our charity on screen, and special thanks to Kerry, Andy and the rest of the team at Look North for sharing our story.
In Peter’s Memory
We’d like to say a massive thank you to Lisa, Jess, James and the incredible number of people who honoured Peter’s memory at his funeral, raising an amazing £1,700 for Live Well with Cancer. We’re so grateful to see Peter’s family and friends raising funds in his memory.

Thank you, Jenny!
Jenny Clark will be running the Great North Run for the second time for us, having been introduced to the charity by Peter, one of her dad’s best friends, when he was diagnosed with bowel cancer.

Thank you, Andrew!
Andrew Davies is taking part in the Wall, a 70-mile ultramarathon from Carlisle to Newcastle, in memory of Peter, who would be calling Andrew a “daft Mackem nutter” for taking on the challenge.
Live Well Lads
We’d like to say a huge thank you to Macmillan Cancer Support for awarding us a grant of £9,095 to support our Live Well Lads project! The funding empowers us to deliver a year-long programme of support and engagement activities with men who have received a cancer diagnosis, including weekly men’s drop-in sessions at the Live Well Hub and monthly group activities.

We are looking for men in our community to join us at 2:30pm on Tuesday 5th May for an introductory session to help us plan a year of activities for the Live Well Lads. Please email transformation@livewellwithcancer.co.uk for more information.

Healthy Habits Masterclass

We were thrilled to host our first Live Well with Healthy Habits Masterclass at the Live Well Hub! Thank you to Northern Cancer Alliance and Point North for funding the session, along with 12 regional prehabilitation workshops that will take us from North Shields to Berwick and Cumbria, with plenty of stops in between. Ben has already hosted sessions at Cramlington Health and Care Academy and Riverside Stadium, with sessions scheduled with Northumberland Healthwatch, Sage, VODA and FACT in the coming weeks.

Thank you, fundraisers!
We’re always blown away by the fundraising efforts of our community and the kindness and generosity of their families, friends and wider community.
